Chris Madel Exceeds Expectations at MNGOP State Central Meeting Straw Poll
MEDINA, MN (December 13, 2025) – Less than two weeks after entering the race for Governor, Chris Madel exceeded expectations at the Minnesota Republican Party’s State Central Committee Meeting gubernatorial straw poll, coming in fourth place in a field of eleven candidates, outperforming candidates who have been campaigning for months and, in some cases, years.
“I’m honored and genuinely amazed by the level of support shown by delegates from across our great state today. To see this kind of response after being in the race for just twelve days is just incredible,” Madel said. “Voters are tired of perennial candidates and empty talk from career politicians. It’s time to nominate a candidate who can deliver real change.”
Madel emphasized that the straw poll, the first measure of support in the 2026 gubernatorial campaign, marks just an early step as the campaign works toward the Republican endorsement next year.
“There’s a long way to go to defeat Tim Walz and deliver the change Minnesota desperately needs. I will continue working hard to earn the support of every Republican delegate across Minnesota,” Madel concluded.
